What is successful planting design?

Producing a planting design should not be about a process that leads to you producing the same design with the same plants time after time. Design is about the experience that you have, about the story it tells. The creative demands of design and the need to respond to the client’s requirements are paramount. Andrew will explore the importance of establishing the design brief, analysis and understanding and the exploration of ideas and planting character with the aim of producing solutions that are unique to the client and will help you embrace new, more interesting trees and other plants.

Andrew is a Director of the London College of Garden Design and leads the Planting Design Diploma, a six month intensive planting design course based at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He also teaches design on the RHS Wisley Diploma and has a successful design office with Dan Bowyer creating gardens worldwide.

The day is completely FREE of charge with breakfast and lunch included (please note, we do not cater for individual needs)
