Introduced from its native western China in 1910, when discovered by Ernest Wilson, this lovely rowan stands out by its flat blue tinged leaves and light brown trunk.
White flowers are in abundance in May/June follwed by berries in autumn which start out pink before turning white but colours can vary greatly, produced in large clusters which contrast with the stunning red autumn colour. Being white, the berries are the last to be taken by birds, so can remain on the tree way past Christmas.
