Once the most frequently planted Lime this is a very long lived tree and commonly planted in central Europe as an urban tree.
It is a hybrid between Tilia cordata and Tilia platyphyllos and has been known to reach over 50 metres tall like the specimen at Duncombe Park in Yorkshire.
