Acer palmatum Fireglow was developed around 1977 this is thought to be an improved clone of the superb ‘Bloodgood’.  In truth there is little to choose between them so try not to agonise over the two!

It thrives on most soils.

This lovely Japanese Maple, the glorious display of summer leaves provide great contrast in any garden so time should be taken to carefully select its planting position to achieve greatest effect. As a rule the eye picks up on deep reds and purples first to if you place it further back in your landscape it draws the focus through your garden rather than blocking off view behind it.
